Thailand (Bangkok) Trip in 11 - 15 August 2008

After a hard's work, I think I deserved a holiday to relax and to cure my shopping frenzy addictions. So we decided to go for a "short" trip to Bangkok to relax. We didn't try before budget air flights. So we choose "JET STAR" as our choice.
On 11 August 2008 @ 5am plus, we have reached Changi Terminal One Airport. We have abandon our heavy workload behind and look forward for this trip.

We have touch down at Suvarnabhumi Airport at about noon time. After abandoning our luggage, we headed down to Platinum Fashion Mall to start our "war". The war I'm indicating is the bargaining war. I can feel the Adrenalin rush flowing into my veins.

When you visit Thailand, remember to hop into "tuk tuk" for a joy ride. I was quite shock to hear that tuk tuk price is 10 Baht only. But there is a catch to the price. The tuk tuk rider will sent you to Gems Factory. Every customer they sent them there, the tuk tuk driver will receive gasoline stamps. They need to collect 20 stamps to entitle to 5 Litre Gasoline coupon. But if the customer purchase items above 2000 Baht from the gem factory. They will received 10Litres gasoline immediately. Fascinating business mindset. . .

Next, we headed down to MBK also known as Ma Bu Kong Shopping Centre. The stuff is mainly taken from Pratunam Wholesale Market, so the prices there are above Pratunam prices. Nevertheless, we still shop the entire place for cheap deals. We managed to find a particular restaurant called ShaBu Shi. Very unique of eating steamboat buffet + sushi. To prevent customers from

For dinner, we came across one Indian + Muslim restaraunt called "Halong Seafood" at First Hotel. Very nice ambience. The seafood prices is quite cheap. We have our dinner at the same place on two nights. The waitress could even remember our orders on the previous nights. The moment we sat down, they waitress approached us and said "Yesterday same same, coconut drink??" I was quite stunned and I din even looked at the menu and nodded my head "Ok same same coconut two please!!!" It is a must try place to have your dinner.

This programme which I will be presenting is one of our favourite moments. Out of the 5 days in Bangkok, we have gone back 3 times to the same Massage Parlour for massage. The technique used by them, really makes me sleep better at night and trust me... after a tiring shopping, they really can ease your pain and perhaps, continue shopping.
Located at near CENTER POINT hotel
Recommendations:- 300 Baht for Whole body massage.

On the last day of our trip, I was behind a curtain changing into my massage outfit. I could hear my brother, Angie and Felicia laughing. I was quite curious. The moment I drawn the curtain and I saw my masseuse. She is a plump , huge lady. Cold sweat starts to tinkle from my forehead. I told my brother in Chinese "Who want to exchange with me.... Can I backout in this massage sessions!" Haizz poor me, pay money still need to receive pain. I told myself to tahan the pain. But... still cannot.

On the last day of our trip, we were having breakfast at the Bluespice cafe. We were quite happy with the service rendered in Center Point. We decided to do up a token of appreciation. We made a simple yet nice for Mr Happy Man. Thailand has a motto for themselve. They are called Thailand - Land of Smiles. They really lift up to their name...

1. Pratunam Market - Almost everyday we got sometime to buy from the place. It's a highly recommended place.
2. Bo Bae Wholesale market - Go there if you need to open clothing shops. Cos the clothing are sold in wholesale. (Minmum 12 pcs). They do not sell 1 pcs to customers.
3. Chatuchak Market - I went there on Friday. Most shops are closed. But it is huge place to shop. From Clothings / Watches / Home Decor / Display items / Pets - Dogs, Rabbit, birds, hamsters, and much more...
4. Chinatown also known as Sum Pan (Hope i got correct spelling) - Good place to have expensive sharkfin and birdnest. You can also buy dried food stuff from there.

While walking back to our hotel, we came across a stall called Nail Arts. The girls immediately sat down and choosing the designs. I was wondering what might have drawn them immedately. Later then I realised that the price was implicating factor. Haha, some designs could go as low as 80 Baht.

This is the expensive bird nest and sharkfin which I have introduce earlier on. I think it is best to have bird nest and sharkfin at Platinum Fashion Mall top level. I think it's cheaper at the location..

Chatuchak Weekend Market - As it was Friday (Last Day), we risked 120 Baht and headed down to the weekend market. Information received that Friday, some shops is opened. True enough, the stalls are opened.

J.J Mall located beside Chatuchak. Nice and quiet place. As we were quite hungry, therefore we headed down to AJISEN to have our lunch. Noodle is kinda of less and we were still hungry.
Lastly, we have reached the ending part of our trip, The Suvarnabhumi Airport. The airport is quiet unique and new. So I have no comments. Quite clean and big. I heard it is a new airport newly built. Design + Outlook is much more better than Changi Airport.
