7Days Taiwan Trip + 2 Days Hong Kong Itinerary

Day 1 (Taipei)

Singapore Changi Terminal One to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Cathay Pacific. Took a High Speed Rail to Taipei. The High Speed Rail is quite comfortable and overall quite fast too. Next, our tour guide - Mr Steven Lee brought us to National Museum. The artifacts are very grand but we are not allowed to have any photographic taken inside. Soooo... kind of too bad. The only thing that interested me is the Jade crave into the shape of Cabbage. Next we left the museum and proceed to Fishersman's Wharf (The filming site for Lu Xin Hua Yuan - The Meteor Garden). There is a bridge connecting it several shops... Guess the bridge name? It is Qing Ren Jiao ("Lover's Bridge"). After 1 hrs of walking, we left the wharf and the tour guide brought us to TamShui Night Market also known as Dan Shui Lau Jie (A "makan" heaven for hungry men and women out there). Subsequently, we left the Nightmarket and proceed back to our hotel for a early rest.

-Hotel staying is Howard Lake Resort (Located at Tainan)
-Rating: 5/10
-Reason: No room service + Very Ulu place, Nothing to walk. But very nice view in the morning as the room are overlooking a lake.

Day 2 (Hua Lien)

Taipei - We had our morning call at 6am... but surprisingly, the sky were as bright as 9am. But too bad we had to wake up for our morning breakfast at the hotel. While we are still at Taipei, we were brought to Yeuliu Geopark to see stones which were created naturally by Volcanoes eruptions. There were severals stones were quite unique. Next we went to Nan Tien Temple to view one of the god prayed by the locals. The god name is "Ma Zhu". It is said that sailors before they go out for their sailing trips, they would come to pray 'Ma Zhu" for safe journey. After which, we took the tour bus to a train station to try the old train that is still in use. We arrived at Su Aw Station. We took the train to Xin Chen Station (located near Hua Lien). We board the tour bus and we went to Ah Mei Tribe (also known as Ami Aboriginal Cultural Show). We were invited for the cultural dance...

-Hotel staying is Gold Coast Hotel (Located at Hua Lien)
-Rating: 5/10
-Reason: Not much things to shop & walk around. But the bamboo glutinous rice is quite unique.

Day 3 (Tai Chung)

- With bloodshot eyes, we woke up again at 6am (morning call) from our bed. Had our breakfast and proceed to LingZhi Specialty Shop at Hualien. The shop is specialise in LingZhi and Foetus of a deer. It were said that it could "cure" several illness (eg. High blood pressure, etc....). The process of getting the foetus is damn cruel loh. So I & Felicia din get anything from the shop. But my mum bought some Lingzhi for her own consumptions (Lingzhi maybe I still can believe.. but not the foetus).

- Next we travelled to Taroko National Park. The mountains there were actually protected by the governments as the entire mountain is actually "RAW MARBLE" materials. In the early years, the said place were actually used for marble productions. Nice view and cooling.... As it was raining, our caring tour guide brought us to a cafe located within Taroko park for a warming coffee. The said coffee were highly recommended by the tour guide. So we had a cup... Indeed.. the coffee aroma flows down to your throat making you want to have another cup.

- Next we decend from the mountain to our next destination to a Jade Factory. The entire shop is filled with jade items (e.g Buddhas / Dragons / Tien Lu / Vases). The lady also introduced their shop specialty called "Mao Yen" (Cat's eye). It resembles the cat's eye, so that's how the stone got its name. I have bought a sapphire necklace from there.. which cost a "bomb". Haizz!!

- While leaving the place to our next location, we stopped by a rural town (forgotten what town) to use the police station toilet. The officer were indeed shocked to see the entire tour people entering the station. Mai ah gua la, use toilet nia lahz ! ! ! - After patronising the toilet, we proceed to our next the Caves of the Eight Immortal (Ba Shian Dong).

- We went next to the San Sian Tai (Terrace of the Three Immortal). Due to strong wind, we unable to go over to the terrace. So all we could see the starting point of the eight arc bridge.

- After a tiring day of walking up hills. At last, we reached our temporary lodging place called "Feng Tai Hot Spring Hotel". I & my parents spend some quality times inside the hotspring talking and of cos some funny moments.

-Hotel staying is Feng Tai Hotspring Hotel (Located at Tai Dong)
-Rating: 8/10 *Damn good*
-Reason: The hotspring really relief the stress that you have accumlate on that day.

Day 4 (KaoShiung)

- Pissed off... Again wake up 6am.. ARggg!!!! We left the hotel and went on with our journey. First stop, we arrived at Fo Kuang Shan Monastery. Very huge monastery containing Kuan Yin statues and other gods.
- Next stop, we proceed to Dream Mall. There is a Hello Kitty Ferris Wheel. Not much what we expected. (Not recommended to go - waste $$$)
- Next we proceed to Ai He (Kao Shiung Love River). The boat ride is pretty much like our Clarke Quay boat ride. Nothing much.
- Next stop is my favourite. Night Market time.... Liu He Night Market. Highly recommended food that we tasted:-
1. Huge prawn head
2. Da ye Chuo Toufu
3. Mango fruit smoothies.
- After having some munchies, we left the night market and proceed back to our hotel.

-Hotel staying is Metropolitan (Located at Kao Shiung)
-Rating: 7/10 *Two thumbs up*
-Reason: Very classy hotel with plasma tv as the outlook. Comfortable & Cosy....

Day 5 (Tai Chung)

Today we woke up 5.30am as our morning call. Because we are going to Sun Moon Lake. While on the way up, we passed by a Wen Mu Temple. We stopped by for awhile to take some pictures.
- Next, we have arrived the Ah Mei Tribe shop called Mao Wang Ye House. We were warmly greeted by the locals and they introduced products such as raw bee pollens / honey / Royal jellies. It is said to have beauty effects for char boh out there... So I was quite convinced by them. so I bought a bottle of honey back. Haha...
- Next stop we went to Chung Tai Chan Monastery. Whoo... Very grand place where monks undergo training and teachings here. The outlook looks like Home Team Academy.
- Next stop we proceed to night market. Whoo!!! My Favourite... Feng jia Night Market. Highly recommended this place cos everything soooo CHEAP!!! Bought alot of shoes from there.

-Hotel staying is De Bao (Located at Tai Chung)
-Rating: 6/10 *scary*
-Reason: Very classy hotel with plasma tv as the outlook again. But the light went off a couple times. Scary but overal quite comfortable & cosy....

Day 6(KaoShiung)

-As usual, the morning call again. We took the tour bus back to KaoShiung. While at KS, we stopped by Vigor Kobo to buy our tai yang goodies and mochis. Got many many goodies.. yummy!!
- Next stop, we stopped by C.K.S memorial hall. The moment we alighted, we saw some variety filming. As usual, we kaypoh and walked over to the crowd. Guess who we saw.... We saw the Taiwan Sunday girls - "AiSha". She is soooo skinny but Chioo!!! Whoo.. managed to snap afew photos before the arrogant manager of her ask us to get lost. *Humph*
- After the viewing of the memorial hall, we told by the tour guide that there will be a "changing guard duty" ceremony. Nevertheless, we stopped by for awhile and took afew shots of the guard.
We left the place and while on the board the bus, the tour guide asked a favour from a street side "Bing Lang" mei mei to come onboard. Some of the tour members took several shots of the Bing Lang Mei Mei... Overall very chio!! Haha *kena pull ear*
-Next location is Five Cent Drift wood house to have our lunch. It is delicious...!!! Highly reccommended.
- Next in the list is of cos the highest building called the Taipei 101. Didn't do much over there as the stuff are damn expensive. Branded stuff such as Valentino / Gucci / Coach. We did not went up the 101 level as there is a fee to pay before heading up.
- Next stop we went to Shilin Night Market. Whooo... The stuff there are abit expensive compared to Feng Jia Night Market. But never mind, since it is the last 2nd day. We decided to shop till we dropped. The tour guide gave us only 3 hrs.. Where got enuff..!!!! We left the place filled with regrets. Before we left the place, we went to the Shilin foodcentre to try the followings stuff:-
1. Big Chicken Fillet (deep fry)
2. Ou Ah Jian (Fried oyster omellete w/o sweet sauce)
3. Ou Ah Mee Sua (Oyster in Mee Sua)
4. Papaya Milkshake
After having our meal, we left to our hotel.

-Hotel staying is Cosmo (Located at KaoShiung)
-Rating: 6/10 *scary*
-Reason: Very small room. While on the bed, I can even use my leg to close the door. It shows how small it is. But as we still have the shopping frenzy. We went out to Xi Men Ting Night Market to cure our shopping sickness.

7 days (Taoyuan)
The tour guide told us that we could wake up abit late today. We overjoyed but still wake up early becos we want to spend the remaining taiwan cash. We walked around but we could not find anything to buy back. In the end, we have keep the cash for future usage.
At about 1150am, we left the hotel and went to Taoyuan International Airport to go to our next destination - HongKong!

After 1hrs plus of travelling via Cathay Pacific. At last we have reached HONG KONG! We met our tour guide namely: Gigi. *puke* She brought us to Airport coach bay and we boarded a bus. To my disgust, she held up her mike and introduced herself. Next moment, she told us that she will be going around to collect the tippings for us. I know it is a must to collect tips from us but not now right. Then everything the tour guide told us, she say if you all going to town. The tour bus will charge HK$20 for each ride. *i give up hope on tis tour guide*

When we reach our hotel (around 5pm) - Habour Plaza Resort (Very bad location - Very far from city / shopping areas). We quickly placed our luggage and head down to town.

The Peak + Madam Tussauds Wax Museum

Day 8 (Hong Kong)
- Today we were told by the tour guide that we had to attend the half day city tour with them before they could released the Disneyland tickets to us. Again I felt disgusted as the tour guide brought us to Jumbo Kingdom to sit a boat-ride (own expenses) + Jewellery shop + Tea Leave shop.
- Lastly, she brought us to Repulse Bay to a temple. From the temple, we could see some bunglows on top of hill. Tour guide informed us that the white bunglow belongs to Jacky Chan. Repulse bay is known to have rich people owning some of the house over there. You must have status in order to live in that urban luxurious district.

- Next stop, DISNEYLAND. Spend a fun filled day together with my parents. No thrilling rides for them. Took alot of wonderful pictures. While we were waited patiently for the fireworks, a slight drizzle kicks in and strong wind. The fireworks "designed" were partially destroy. Haizz!! Due to the rain, we did not proceed down to MONGKOK - Ladies Street. We shall go tomorrow.

9 Days (Hong Kong)
Early in the morning we check-out from the hotel and went to Ngong Ping 360 to see the largest Buddha. Before, we could see the sculpture, we had to sit 25 mins ride in the cable car.

After viewing the place, we headed down to Mongkok to buy some local products like Lau Po Biscuits from Wing Wah. Highly recommended.

While walking, along Nathan Street.. At last we found the famous MONGKOK - Ladies Street. The entire is bursting with people. There were many shops selling ladies handbag / bags / shoes / wallet. I managed to get some wallets from there as well as my mum got herself a lady handbag. She is quite happy with the price. Subsequently, we head back to the hotel via MTR. There were many hipcups + funny moments on the way back to hotel (from:- Mum + Felicia)

At about 2315hrs, we arrived back to Singapore via Cathay Pacific. Our uncle waited for us to send us back home. We went oversea with 4 luggages but we came with 7. Hahah we really brought back the entire Taiwan and Hongkong with us back to Singapore.
